What do you do if you have a front yard that has trouble growing grass OR you don’t want any grass? This first landscape design may give you some cool ideas for how to create a front yard landscape design with no grass.
Design #1: No Lawn

First up, we have a house in Calgary, Canada where the lawn is gone and not coming back.
- PROBLEM: How to create a beautiful front yard with no grass.
- SOLUTION: Update with a new paver walkway, decorative gravel beds that frame the mulch, and soften with lots of zone-friendly plantings. *Check out the YouTube video for the detailed analysis
- Landscape Design: Now, this home has gone from desolate and bland to having some serious curb appeal.
Design #2: Privacy

Next, we head to Chesterfield, MO for another front yard that is ready for some landscaping.
- PROBLEM: The home has been unoccupied for some time and the landscaping has not been touched.
- SOLUTION: Create some curvy landscape beds and a nice privacy row of arborvitae bushes to frame the space and update this home’s curb appeal.
- Landscape Design: Now, this home is much more pleasing to look at and ready for its new homeowner to move in!
Design #3: Covering the Garage

Finally, we are headed to Branson, MO where this garage was all you would see as you pulled up to the driveway.
- PROBLEM: The garage and the drainage needed to be addressed.
- SOLUTION: Install a small retaining wall to keep the landscaping separate from the lawn and create a decorative gravel dry creek to separate the water that flows through from the lawn.
- Landscape Design: Now, this home has much more curb appeal and something nice to look at when coming home from a long day of work.
